Since the technology has been developed, the world has been globalizing and the tourism industry has been growing bigger. Tourism plays a vital role in many ways;  it brings not only financial benefits but also aids in the preservation and development of culture. Furthermore, the non negligible fraction of the tourism industry leads the government to be involved in benefiting both visitors and residents. Ultimately, tourism is the industry expected to have positive effects from various angles.

As is widely known, tourism holds great significance in the economy in both developed and developing countries. For instance, in France, the most visited country in the world, had attracted about 90 million tourists in 2018, the Eiffel tower alone attracting around 7 million visitors. Even though France is a powerful nation which could generate enough profit from other areas, about 2 million jobs in France and 7.5% of French GDP relies on the tourism industry. Small island states such as the Maldives and Fiji understandably, highly lean to tourism than developed countries, more so than developed countries. The primary reason for the substantial impact of tourism on the economy and its large contribution to GDP is the creation of diverse job opportunities.

The tourism industry can also lead to cultural development by making cultural heritage or authentic nature an iconic tourist attraction. This will lead to  financial incentives for preserving traditions and culture. For instance, Thailand has conserved their traditional food by activating Culinary tourism as a popular travel attraction. Also Costa Rica has expanded the protection area to promote the idea of ecotourism, showcasing its natural beauty. Furthermore, the global flow of tourists facilitates the exchange of diverse cultures, leading to the preservation and evolution of original cultures as well as the formation of new ones.

As mentioned, the success of availability in the tourism industry which brings up revenue gives rise to additional funds and financial incentives to improve the area for bigger profit. This support induces public benefits, improving the quality of life of citizens. Convenient infrastructures such as roads or healthcare facilities will be constructed and the security level will improve in order to attract tourists to feel comfort and revisit. For example, Barcelona in Spain was a very dangerous country back in the 1980s due to the heroin epidemic which affected many parts of Europe. Citizens were threatened by a rise in drug-related crimes and violences. However, after Barcelona became a popular tourist destination in the 1990s, Spain government increased police presence and significantly decreased crime.
